I’ve been very active over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. If you take a look at my last several blog posts, you will see the types of events I’ve been shooting. It’s been fun and I loved every minute of it, but it has been quite the job. When you are shooting events that are unfolding before you, there is a pressure to get the shot. There are no do-overs. Working under pressure, be it pressure from a client or the pressure you put on yourself, can be exhausting. That’s why I feel it is important to recharge your batteries on occasion to keep you moving forward.

If you follow me, you know one of my favorite places to unwind is the Natchez Trace Parkway. I love the freedom of not having somewhere to be and the freedom of not being constrained by time. I can simply just be in the moment. There is no pressure to get the shot. In fact, depending on the subject, I can experiment and play around until I get something I like. I love these outings! When you throw in the soothing sound of moving water, you have yourself a great way to reduce stress and anxiety.

The moving water came in the form of two waterfalls, Jackson Falls and Fall Hollow Falls along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennessee at mile markers 404.7 and 391.9 respectively. We’ve seen a lot of rain lately, and it’s been a while since I paid these sites a visit. I figured these waterfalls would be moving a lot of water. My presumption was right.

I could use a few more of these outings, but today’s venture was a nice escape. I hope you enjoyed the photos. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. You can Like and Follow my Facebook Page at Shuttering Thru Life to catch my next escape.
