a step back in time at falls mill

I made a trip to Falls Mill in Belvidere, Tennessee. I grew up in Franklin County, but I can only remember visiting the mill once, and that was quite a while ago.

What makes Falls Mill so special is that the waterwheel still turns, and you can see and hear the antique machinery operating inside. As a mechanical engineer in my day job, I have a real appreciation for the craftsmanship and ingenuity behind these old machines.

It’s easy to get lost in the history of the mill and the surrounding area. The three-story building is filled with antique equipment and historical documentation on every floor. You could easily lose track of time taking it all in.

I really enjoyed my visit and hope to make it back before the mill closes for the winter!
